Welcome back to another entry of me talking about games I may or may not complete. August was a bit slower game wise as I got back into Destiny 2 for some reason, however I did complete a playthrough of a couple of games so that is always a bonus. Let start by talking about those games I completed during the month of August.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart (PS5):
I ended up finishing Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart early in the month and I thought it was good. It was another good Ratchet and Clank game and hopefully it did well enough to get a new entry and maybe branch out a bit more. My review of the game can be found here.
Mario Golf: Super Rush (Switch):
Finished up the Adventure mode and gave the ranked season a chance. Adventure mode was okay. I feel like it takes a hard right turn going from a story about a rookie climbing the ranks to fighting an evil ice monster. I don’t know why but it made it feel like about half way through they were like ‘oh wait this is a Mario game, we can be crazy with golf’. As far as ranked mode, game-wise it has been good. Haven’t experience a lot of lag or connection issues but the rewards could be better, like for August it was different colors for Yoshi and for September it’s Boo with a visor so can’t say I’m really excited about playing more golf. It’s an ok game but I’m hoping they release some quality content on a regular basis for this game or it’s going to collect dust on my shelf.
LEGO Builder’s Journey (Switch):
The other game I completed was LEGO Builder’s Journey, which is very different from most of the Lego titles as it isn’t based around a Lego-ified version of a popular property. This game focus on a small Lego child exploring the world around them using the brick around them to make it from place to place. Builder’s Journey isn’t a long game but it may feel that way as the puzzles don’t vary much until the last couple of sections. Overall, it was an okay experience and the 20-dollar price tag isn’t too back but pick it up on a sale if you can.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS5):
I have enjoyed the Little Big Planet series since the first game back on the PS3. Taking the creative world and making it a 3D platformer works extremely well. Sackboy controls very well and the presentation of the game is off the chart. I will definitely try to wrap this game up before October.
Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (Switch):
I haven’t played many of the games in the Legend of Zelda series but Link’s Awakening looked interesting enough for me to give it a shot. I have enjoyed the look and sound of the game and have made a good amount of progress. I have also enjoyed just exploring the island as I get new items. I also have been enjoying figuring out how to handle all the different enemies in the world. I have made it about half way through the game so hopefully I will finish it up for the September Gaming Journal.
Destiny 2 (PC):
Destiny is a game I really shouldn’t be playing as games like this don’t really fall into my wheel house and tend to fall off for months at a time. However, I have been playing since D1 and been trying to play a bit every night as a way to destress and relax. The newest season started tours the end of August and is leading up to the release of the next expansion, The Witch Queen. I try to spend most my time doing as much PVE as I can cause I am not good with PVP.
August was a good month for checking some games off my list. Plan is to complete Link’s Awakening and try out some new games coming out this month like Dice Legacy and Eastward and maybe finally get around to Spider-man: Mile Morales. With that all said remember to Stay Safe, Be Kind and Game On!
