As we wait for Digimon Survive to be released and with the latest trailer (click here to watch) showing several human characters and their partner Digimon and based on some information about the game, I get the feeling we won’t have as much freedom in the Digivolution as we have in previous games due to a more story focus game. So I figure I would think up of Digivolutions going from rookie to Mega each partner Digimon, and this time I decided to use the Digimon Encyclopedia on DigiWeb, so this will ‘best’ effort to make digivolution lines make sense and try to give some Digimon a spotlight and if any of the names seem off, blame the encyclopedia as it is the source for this post. So going in order of appearances let’s start with Takuma Momozuka and Agumon.

Based on images in we have scene in the trailers, I’m thinking we will probably get a tradition line of Agumon to Greymon then to MetalGreymon which wouldn’t is a bit of a downer but Agumon is one of the mascots of the franchise so not surprised. However, I think this could be a great opportunity to let VictorGreymon some time in the spotlight, since so far there isn’t a Gabumon in the game so there may be no Omegamon/Omnimon presence in this game so there really isn’t a need for WarGreymon, but this is kind of wishful thinking.

Now we move to Minoru Hinata and Falcomon. Now this is the original version of Falcomon and not the 2006 version but I grab ideas from Data Squad for this Digivolution line. This is a bit hard cause we only got a small look at the character’s personality when they showed the opening movie a couple years ago which easily could of changed but I have a feeling that Minoru would like swordsmen so that is why I went with Falcomon to Peckmon to Karatenmon and finally Ravemon as the mega. I know it’s not really originally but I do like the flow of this line.

For Aoi and Labramon, I went with a theme and tried to stay in the beast/holy beast section of the encyclopedia and I think it makes an interesting line. We go from Labramon to Seasarmon to Mihairamon and then to Mitamamon as the mega. The nice part about Digimon is there is a good about of freedom with the Digivolution so I have a lot of room to work with. Though, I will admit going from Mihairamon to Mitamamon is a bit awkward but I think the flow from Beast to Holy Beast to God Beast works nicely.

Now comes one of the toughest ones with the cheapest answer. This was tough cause I had to really think out of the box and not go straight to Cherubimon or any other the evolutions we have seen in the anime. However, I worked around that by going with the BlackGargomon line so basically the typical Terriermon line but with darker colors. So it goes Lopmon to BlackGargomon to BlackRapidmon then to BlackSaintGargomon to top it off. I do like that it is called BlackSaintGargomon and to be honest, I do think this flows really well.

This was another hard one as my gut reaction was to go with Rafflesimon or Lotusmon as alternatives to the Rosemon line we usually see and really didn’t finalize on the line until writing the final version of this post. The line I finally decided on was Floramon to Kiwimon to Deramon and finally NoblePumpkinmon as the mega. Before anyone says anything, I know, Deramon to NoblePumpkinmon is a big leap but I like the plant royalty and the only mega in the encyclopedia that fit was NoblePumpkinmon. This was hard cause I was really trying not to end with Rosemon or Puppetmon.

Now it’s time for the laziest line of this post. I so badly wanted to have Kunemon go into BanchoStingmon but it was hard to keep that theme going from rookie to mega so I ended up giving it a better generic mean looking insect based Digimon for the digivolution line. So the line will go Kunemon to Snimon to Okuwamon and ends with TyrantKabuterimon. Hopefully the game will do Kunemon more justice than I have.

The last two human-digimon partners seems interesting as it seems they were given ones that can easily go creepy real quick. Starting with Kaito and Dracmon I decided to give the prankster Digimon a hellhound inspired line of Dracmon to Dobermon to Cerberusmon and GranDracmon for the mega. It will be interesting to see how these two will interact with eachother.

For the final pair, we have Miu Shinonome and Syakomon. With Miu being Kaito’s younger sibling, I figure it be interesting to also give Syakomon and scray looking digivolution line. So for this line we go from Syakomon to Coelamon to MarinKimeramon and finally Regalecusmon as the mega. Think this is a interesting flow for this Digimon and think it be fun to have these two act more as enemies than allies in the game.

There are some of my guessing for the possible digivolutions for the partner Digimon in Digimon Survive. It will be cool if I get any of them correct but I know it’s a long shot.
